ALBUMS

Potential is my first album and was publicly released in October 2020. It was mainly made as a way for me to hone my music composition and scoring skills over the pandemic, as each song in the album was made about a specific emotion or concept. It is entirely instrumental with no spoken words in any of the tracks. It contains 10 tracks and has a run time of about 65 minutes.

Horizons is my second album which was released on February 14, 2021. I made it as a way to improve on Potential by using more ambient sounds as a way to convey ambiguity. There is no deeper meaning behind Horizons or any of its tracks that's meant to scratch into my life or my thoughts. With the exception of Peanut, which is about my pet guinea pig that died, I sorta just slapped sounds together and saw what happened. It contains 12 tracks and has a run time of about 85 minutes.

Beginnings is my most recent project, being released on April 14, 2023. It's meant to be an illustration of my experience of transferring between three different schools between 7th and 9th grade. This album put my composition skills to the test as I had to convey the specific emotions that I felt as a result of having many of my old friendships severed, having to adapt to a more fast-paced school environment, and dealing with the struggle of being accepted. Telling a story through music and subtle sound design choices is something I'd never done before and I'm happy with the way this album turned out.

SINGLES AND EXPERIMENTAL PROJECTS

Odyssey China

Odyssey China was a failed attempt by me to compose an album in 2019 using the beatgrid function with audio samples in Garage Band. There were three tracks made for it until I decided that it would be more practical to work on original compositions rather than mashing the same samples together to make songs.

One More Time

One More Time was a remix of One More Time by Daft Punk that I made when I was 12 in 2018. This was literally my first time "arranging" music. It's bad, and unoriginal for that matter.

Kindness EDM Remix is a remix that I made from one of my songs, Kindness, in Summer 2020 for a project I had to do at the Berklee School of Music's summer program. It was my first experience remixing a song and it got graded as a B. One reason my teacher gave for taking off points was that some of the samples were not in the same key as Kindness, giving it a slightly diminished sound.

To Live

To Live was a project that I did for my English final in 9th grade. It is meant to tell the themes present in To Live by Yu Hua as that was the book that my English class was reading at the time. This is a good example of my ability to score a piece of literature as I had to address the moods and themes present in the book.
